Cornelius is a town located in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Located just off the shores of Lake Norman, Cornelius is currently home to over 20,000 residents, and is still growing! It is just about 20 miles north of the city of Charlotte so even though Cornelius residents can enjoy their small-town atmosphere and nearby waterfront, they also have easy access to everything the city can offer.

Cornelius is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system. Students here typically attend Cornelius Elementary or JV Washam Elementary and typically progress on to Bailey Middle School, and then Hopewell High School or Mecklenburg North High School. Nearby institutes of higher learning include the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Central Piedmont Community College, Gaston College, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Catawba Valley Community College and Winthrop University.
